Nordsee FischkasserolleNorth Sea Fish Stew

This dish is very popular in Hamburg where fish available on the day is used.

 

Serves: 6

 

Ingredients:

 

45g / 1˝oz Butter

1 Onion, chopped

500g / 1lb White-Fleshed Fish, cut into small cubes

250g / 8oz Scallops

250g / 8oz Fresh Prawns (Shrimps), shelled and cleaned

200g / 6˝oz Button Mushrooms, sliced

1 cup / 8 floz Fish Stock

1 cup / 8 floz Dry White Wine

˝ tsp Salt

Freshly Ground Black Pepper

2 cups / 10oz Cooked Rice

1 tbsp Chopped Parsley

3 tbsp Grated Parmesan Cheese

 

Instructions:

 

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C / 350°F / Gas Mark 4.

  2. In a heavy casserole, melt the butter and sauté the onion.

  3. Add all the remaining ingredients except the Parmesan cheese and mix together well. Bake in the oven for 30 minutes.

  4. Sprinkle with the cheese and place under the grill to brown.
